Bicycle moto cross (BMX) started in the late 1960s in California, around the time that motocross became a popular sport in the USA, when children began racing their bicycles on dirt tracks in southern California. BMX racing was a phenomenon by the mid-1970s. The motorised version of the sport was the inspiration for the human-powered competition.
BMX Cycling race takes place on designed paths. Cycling BMX is governed by International Cycling Union. BMX Cycling debuted in Olympics in 2008 Olympic Beijing. 2012 London Olympic will witness BMX Cycling being competed on 8th, 9th & 10th August at BMX Track, Olympic Park.
